Right in the middle of the baroque Wenkenpark and surrounded by ancient tall trees is the Reithalle (‘riding hall’) Wenkenhof, the unique location that, with the right staging, ensures the perfect setting for your event. We would be pleased to show you personally the different possibilities offered by the Reithalle.
Events
The historic hall of the Reithalle covers 435m2 and offers space for:
Banquets for up to 300 guests
Standing receptions and concerts for up to 400 guests
The stage of the riding hall is 26m2 and the courtyard is 285m2, with the courtyard usually shared with the Bistro Reithalle.
Rental prices
The rental price for the Reithalle Wenkenhof consists of two calculation items:
CHF 3800.00 incl. VAT per rental day
from initial use until closing of the Reithalle
The rental price includes a cleaning fee of CHF 200.00.
Rental period
The Reithalle Wenkenhof can be used from Monday to Thursday between 07.00 and 01.00 (clean-up until 02.00) and from Friday to Sunday between 07.00 and 02.00 (clean-up until 03.00). The maximum rental period is therefore 18/19 hours.
Longer use of the premises will be charged separately (CHF 350.00 incl. VAT per hour or part thereof).
Furnishings
The rental price of the Reithalle Wenkenhof includes the following infrastructure:
30 round tables (D = 180cm), 40 rectangular tables (250x80cm), 300 black upholstered chairs, 10 high tables
(D = 60cm)
Kitchen with 12 industrial tables, 1 combi-steamer, 1 industrial oven, 1 freezer, 1 plate warmer, 1 walk-in cold room
The provision of the furnishings according to the renter's request is also included in the rental price.

Historical information
The Reithalle Wenkenhof lies nestled in the spacious and beautiful Wenkenpark between Riehen and Bettingen.
The name Wenkenhof first appears in the early Middle Ages and refers to a rural estate on the hillside above the Wiesental, which today is part of the Wenkenhof ensemble and is referred to as Alter Wenken. In 1714 Christoph Burckhardt-Merian bought the property and expanded it. In 1735 the wealthy merchant Johannes Zaeslin was able to acquire the area in front of the Wenkenhof and built a representative summer residence based on the French model there.
From 1925 the industrialist Alexander Clavel gave the Wenkenhof its present form. As a passionate horseman he built the Reithalle Wenkenhof, now a listed building, in 1925. The riding hall was gently renovated in 1980 and has been a venue for various events since.
